Kind of good clip, with some value for many to consider.

Are you one?

Could one be a snob and be unaware?
(I'm not)

Why so serious?

It's not so much negative criticisms but how it's communicated that she seems to be obsessing about in that she is calling people "snobs"... Now gear or brand "snobs', that's a different matter.

Totally, they are out there.   I know a couple at my meet up group who are absolutely  @#$#%%.  And they have no clue how bad they are.  Either that, or they just don't care.

I take these things with a grain of salt sometimes, the people doing videos are often selling books/videos and often are doing some marketing along with discussing photography.

Anyone I've encountered who's a pro is usually willing to help someone who wants to learn something about photography, and the people who are snobby or snarky about it maybe aren't as good as they think, or have some insecurity about it, etc. - she may have a point there.

But I guess it sort of works both ways, there are a lot of people posting images online and seem to unrealistically expect that everyone will love their photos. It would be nice if people could give constructive criticism without being too critical or harsh. I think if someone is a beginner or fairly new to photography it helps to think about posting in places where you can get some helpful feedback and avoid places or people that give snobby comments.

I am finding it a little silly that some don’t feel that she’s right. I have been watching those two since I started photography and they are usually very lighthearted. In fact, they are targeted by a few other social media photographers because they are “easy” to bully.

This is in every hobby. Go to a gun range. Sometimes you run in to someone that wants to tell you every little thing you’re doing wrong and their welcome is worn out very quickly.

Golf? Bill Engvel (sp?) said it best “That one guy that every time you hit the ball he says “There’s a golf shot...” Of course it’s a golf shot! I hit a golf ball with a golf club!

Racing? Excuses for losing. Smack talk all day long from some people, even when they lose.

In fact, it was funny that when they came out with this video, it was so obviously i was meant to be silly, but people took it too seriously.

Lastly, when I came to this very site, I was welcomed by a photography snob. So don’t tell me they don’t lurk here either! XD

If so, it's not clear to me that they were effective at achieving their goal.

Personally, while I enjoy these two.  I don't think this message was meant to be silly in any way.  She does make a good point, if you are concerned about what others think, and that is holding you back, screw them.  Do what makes you happy.  Photography is a form of artistry and being you.

Simple as that.
