Hanging print in bathroom, how to seal from moisture?

5 years 8 months ago #599694 by Francis
I have some prints I've printed and would like to hang in frames with glass front.  While the backs are covered with the 1/8" birch, there is still that crack that goes around the edges.  So moisture can get in.  Is there something I can spray on the print that will protect if from the moisture?

I believe there's a spray-on sealer that you can acquire, but why bother? If you printed it, just hang and enjoy. If it suffers from humidity, print another after a while.

:agree:   I was thinking the same thing.  Considering the cost of such a spray, and the process of doing it right, it would be cheaper just to print one off, keep it up till it does something.  And then swap out the photo for another!

Just hang it, when it get's all messed up, print a new one.  Now if you are a person that takes crazy hot showers and you have little ventilation in your bathroom, that might be sooner than later that you need to replace the print.

If you are concerned about it, just run a thin bead of silicon around edge in the back of the frame.
