Mid day, and bored. What to do?

By all means!

Harsh is just a light condition and it fits perfectly
to zillions of subjects… go for it!

Light is free… capturing it is not!

I'll go out and find something to photograph.  Even it it means shooting something only to convert to B&W.

"Even if it means only to convert to B&W"?

Harsh light? look for shadows and geometry. Or use a reflector or diffuser on small subjects.

While I certainly have no love for harsh light, it's important to learn to deal with it. And given what you can do in post, it's not the worst thing in the world.

For me, I'll go out when ever.  I'm on build experience mode.  So always looking for the next opportunity.

You kidding, these days with how tight timing can get, I'll go out any time I can squeeze out.  Day, night, no rules here.

Try photographing a water drop hitting water, that will keep you busy for hours!
