How to legally copyright photos by masses?

In order to legally protect your images they need to be copyrighted right? Which is a process in it self.  So if you want to copyright a ton of your images, how can this be accomplished?

G'day GWS

I'm not sure exactly what you are asking here ...
a) immediately you press the shutter button, the image is copyrighted as 'yours' - the same as an author producing a story book or a traditional artist producing a painting,
but
b) =if= you are asking how to insert a copyright symbol onto an image so that the public are informed of the fact ... PS / PSE both have a process where a watermark can be batch-inserted onto a large number of images at the same time

Hope this helps

My photos are "copyrighted" in exif, the second I make the shot.....If that's a correct term.

Why so serious?

First off, OP, you need to understand that copyright is recognized as inherent in the creation of a "thing". It's an attribute that springs into being at the instantiation of an idea.

I think what you refer to is (in the US) registration of works with the copyright office. That's a different, legal stupidity that Congress has decided you must do in order to sue for punitive damages over infringement. Without said registration, you can only sue for actual damages.

Do some googling on court cases to learn more about this.

As for "protecting" your images, define "protect"?

The process for registering your works is documented on the government website copyright.gov.
