Two tripods needed for time lapse rig or one large tripod?

I know Santa got me a time lapse rig.  I don't know the brand, I know its either by Dynamic Perception or Syrp.  Now both companies sliders have spots on the end of each slider and mount in center.  If you have a large enough tripod and strong enough ball head, could you support time lapse rig in the center vs having two tripods, with one mounted on each end?

A tripod that would have enough stability to handle a rail
properly will be heavy and costly.

Two is the better solution, IMO.

Tow would be best, one can be made to work.

Why so serious?

Awesome gift!!  I wish Santa was hooking me up with one.  But I hope to have enough budget saved up by Feb 2019 for mine.  Have you watched video's on YouTube on time lapse?  I get so motivated when I view these when it's paired with right music.

I've never seen anyone using just one tripod.  The problem is when it goes off to the right or left, it might dip down a little.  Your better off using a small tripod and your large one.

You'll lose all sorts of stability with just one tripod regardless of it's size.

Use 2, otherwise wind will move, and when it moves to either side, it will tilt
