Where do you find models?

I have some corporate gigs coming up that have requested models in with their product shots.  I need to find a reliable source of models.   One that yields variety so I can accommodate clients specific look they are after.

I'm waiting on my account to be approved at Model Mayhem.  Keeping that in mind, how is that site for finding models?

You may or may not have problems with flakiness. Ask for references, perhaps?

I think "reliable" comes from repetition and networking. You might want to try hiring a candidate for a test shoot first?

Don't forget make-up and hair.

Yeah, I kind of figured that.  But thought posting this might uncover something out of the expected.  Ahhh, hair and makeup?  Don't they come out presentable?  LOL . I guess that for some, might be out of the question.

Have you had any success with Craigslist?

I generally don't to the type of work that requires models. I just pay attention to the issue.

CL: meh. No.

Craigslist is a roll of the dice IMO.  You can find some good ones, but you need to interview and really go through a vetting process.

You guys are awesome, thank you.  Starbucks?  ha ha ha, ours is full of business peeps most of the day.  However I've been in some where there is a little more 'interesting' group in them.

Model Mayhem is going to be your best bet.  Don't forget to look at talent agencies too.
