Wireless battery charging in cameras

My iphone has it, toothbrush charges wirelessly, so why not the option for charging your camera wirelessly?  I'm not talking about having just one battery, but something that would allow you to set your camera down on charging pad, and it charge.  It will charge what ever battery you have in the camera.

I'm going to go with
  • It seems to be a solution to a problem that doesn't exist
  • I charge my batteries outside of the camera, unless I have no choice (and in which case I think the manufacturer made an asinine choice)
  • I am so not going to buy extra equipment to accomplish something that is more readily and efficiently accomplished using a simple cable
I looked at a charging pad for my iPhone XR, and realized that I still need to charge my phone at work (not going to buy a 2nd one) and it would never help in the car. Again, solution to a non-existent problem. Like capless fuel inlets on Fords. IMNSHO a bad idea. And that's a charitable as I can be.

Yeah, I'm going to agree with Gary on this one.  Just more crap to need to buy, and plus when you travel, that's more weight you need to carry.  Sticking into a charger isn't a big deal for me, so I don't see any reason to run out and buy something like this.  That's just me.

Perfect, that would be just another over priced gadget with little benefits that the manufactures would charge $$ to increase their profit margins.

Not for me, sorry.

I'd rather see built in GPS

Canon 5D Mark II, 30D, 40D, 50 1.2L, 16-35 2.8L Mark II, 24-105 4L IS, 24-70 2.8L, 70-200 2.8L IS, 85 1.8, 4 x 580 EX(II)

No, the benefit wouldn't exceed the likely added cost the manufactures would add.

That wouldn't be something i would run out and say "I gotta have that"!   I'm with Roy, I'd prefer GPS.

There would never be a large enough market to support this.

Phone, yes.  Camera no.  I have a dual battery charger.  That is much quicker and besides taking the battery in and out isn't a big deal.
