Have you focus fine tuned camera body/lenses?

don't need, for just a few lenses, to buy anything.

As NS says - try a ruler
Better still - blu-tak a sheet of newspaper to one of your walls, draw a texta [felt-pen] line vertically down the sheet then set tripod & camera at 45deg and varying distances away. Shoot the texta line using different zoom & F-stop settings and compare results
