Do you still own your first camera?

4 years 11 months ago #644260 by Zach Mosher
There was a discussion on another board I belong to today talking about first cameras.  I was surprised how many people still own their first cameras!

I barely remember what my first camera was, let alone still have it.

Do you still have your first camera?

Nope… who would want to hold to an Instamatic anyway?

Light is free… capturing it is not!

Yes, I still own have my first camera. I remember when I was 11 or 12 and my dad gave me two things: a copy of a magazine devoted to Ansel Adams and other one is his old cameras: a Kodak Medalist II and I am very pleased to say this is still in good position. Whenever I go for a trip I often carry this as the camera quality of this is really amazing.

I still own mine. Canon A-1. Still in great condition. The data back is out of date by about 25 years though. Still have all my original Canon and Tamron lenses I bought with it. I bought this in 1978 shortly after it first came out.

I have most of my cameras starting from my Dad's Agfa Clack in 1971. Followed by my brothers canon AT1, a ZENIT SLR, Nikon D70 s(stolen), D3s, D850. I had a SONY or was it Citizen instamatic but forget the model.

I don't even still have my first wife!  LOL

Seriously though, my first camera is long, long gone.

When I'm ready to move onto another camera, I sell it then.  No since in keeping it, it's only going to depreciate in value in most cases.  Might as well get FMV for it and fund my new purchase.
