Trying to create realistic looking rain on flowers

4 years 8 months ago #656217 by Jackman
I'm trying to get the water from my hose to look like rain drops on my flowers and it just looks like faint white specs.  Shutter is set at 1/200 and aperture is at f/8.  Water is spraying from about 8 feet away from the flowers.

There was a discussion I was reading some time ago and I can't seem to locate where I saw that.  Can you help me out please?

If I can give you a compositional tip, use a super wide aperture and try putting different colors and patterns in the background that make the photo more interesting.  I have even used shirts, wrapping paper and water else I could find with interesting colors and textures.

have fun!
