Buying camera gear in no sales tax state and residing in a tax collect state?

If you are a resident in a tax collecting state, and you physically travel (for work or vacation) to a state that happens to NOT collect sales tax, and you buy a camera.  When you go back to your home state do you have to pay tax on that item seeing that you are using it there?

A) This has nothing to do with cameras.
2) You can run into this problem between counties in a single state.

It depends upon whether the two states have an agreement to collect and report sales tax. If so, you'll be asked about your home address. It really depends upon where you live.

If you're not paying sales tax to B&H Photo, e.g., then you'll likely immune. (Amazon doesn't count... they have a physical presence almost everywhere now, and agreements with states.)

So you're going to Alaska, Oregon, New Hampshire, Delaware, or Montana? Have fun.

Most states have a law that requires citizens to pay sales tax on all taxable purchases acquired without tax.  I think it is more of of an honor thing but it is the law.

You know the tax rule if you collect more than $600 in one year you need to report it?  Is there a similar tax law for purchases like the OP mentioned?  So for example, if the camera was $550 vs $5500, would you not have to report the $550 if that was the only non taxed camera you bought for 12 months?
