Camera on a wire

8 months 1 week ago #658596 by Sharna Lee
I was talking with a rep with Adorama last week about wanting to get higher up shots, but didn't want to get a drone.  The rep was talking about getting my camera on a wire  or something like that.  Honestly, the started going on about something and completely lost me.

If you wanted to get high up shots and video footage and didn't want to get a drone.  What would you use?

Please tell me putting my camera on a wire wasn't a seriously option as Google didn't help much with that search term.

Thanks!

How high are you talking?

Why so serious?

Are you talking about a cable cam?  Wiral and Syrp make one.

Realistically though, it looks like the Syrp one is the only one that can carry a DSLR with lens.

Nope, that other one will carry small mirrorless cameras.

Cable cam?

That's what I've always heard it called.
