Z CAM E-2 4K Cinema Camera - rolling shutter and wifi connection to smart phone

1 year 1 month ago #660690 by Chester Foster
I've been hearing some good vibs about this $2000 cine camera.  But what I would like to know and can't seem to find answer is what sort of latency do you get when using your iPhone for monitor via wireless?

Also, how does the rolling shutter of the Z CAM compare to that of GH5 for example?

Hey Chester - the Z CAM is supposed to be much better than the GH5s rolling shutter which is better than your GH5.  I forget who's video review I saw that just addressed the wifi connect of this camera to an iPhone.  There was some latency, but not much according to the commentator.

Reviews show this camera is a killer bang for the buck.  The little screen on the top seems to be novelty IMO.

What I would like to see is how this compare too the new Blackmagic that's going for $2500.

That Z Cam looks pretty sweet.  Did you see the video from Kai?

Saw Z cam at Cinegear this year in LA.  Their cameras are nice, very nice.

I had to go digging for this, but I was looking at this camera last month and watched video from Everyday Dad and he couldn't get the app or autofocus to work as it should

 FYI

Randy - read the first comment in the notes under that video.  The owner of Z cam addresses some of the points that the speaker talks about in the video.

Canvas vs paper...which one is better? Personally, I prefer canvas because it looks great, is long-lasting, and can be very budget-friendly.
