Negotiating prices with canvas company

Did you negotiating prices with the canvas company you are using for your clients prints? Rather than asking them, "What can you do on my price", did you approach them with a fixed number or percentage in mind?

Its been years since I bought prints of any kind, and I never negotiated for a price, just got a number and used that to quote the customer. Give it a try though, what's the worst they can do, say no?

Why so serious?

No. There are companies that do work at many price points. Find one that fits your needs, or settle on a company for other reasons, and set your customer prices accordingly.

BTW how much are most photographers adding to their cost on the canvas prints you are selling to your clients?

Mine are 25% marked up from the price that I'm getting from the canvas company I'm working with.  I thought that was fair and heard that others have higher price market ups.
