Need to cover view finder on mirrorless cameras during long exposures?

4 years 6 months ago #662746 by Erin Young
I'm researching long exposures  and how to get them.  So as I have read, with DSLRs you need to cover up the view finder so light doesn't get in while doing a long exposure.  So would you need to do the same if you are shooting with a mirrorless camera?

I don't own a mirrorless camera right now, but plan on getting one.

No. Not an issue with mirrorless.

Yup, why do so many not grasp the "mirrorless" concept?

G'day Erin

I've been using mirrorless - superzoom - bridge cameras ... all much the same inside the body now for 16 years and I have never had any issues with long exposures after dark. Biggest 'problem' is half-sozzled clowns who want to pose in front of the tripod while a 30-second exposure is being made. Makes the Delete button get some use :)

Hope this helps
