How much should I charge for a charity event?

This question is kind of two fold.  If the event is 5.5 hours long would you discount or give your services free in hopes you can write off the entire amount.  Speaking of which, for a charity event, can you write off an entire job like this?

Moving beyond the tax write off question from above and it you were going to charge, would you round it up to 6 hours, or just 5.5 hours based on clients request?

You should take that up with your tax expert/ accountant. You might get good advice here, but how would you know until talking with a professional?

Why so serious?

You can't write off your time, even as a business.

You can, however, provide discounts on deliverables and count those. You could also( as an individual) hire yourself (as a company) and then donate the full expense of the work.

But, as stated above, you need to discuss with a experienced tax professional and find a strategy that will withstand scrutiny (and an audit).

I don't mean to be an echo, but 3 times is a charm.  Your tax expert who does your taxes each year is going to be the best source for information on this question for you.
