Hyperfocal Distance vs Double Distance Focusing?

4 years 5 months ago #663046 by Juan Anthony
When it comes to dialing in your focus when shooting landscapes or nature shots, which method are you using Hyperfocal Distance or Double Distance Focusing?

I've been trying to get my focus locked down and just missing the boat on some good shots.  Can you help me out on which is preferred.  Also someone was telling me that hyperfocal distance might not be as relevant today as with older cameras??

Hyperfocal distance is as relevant today.  I also, when I can, shoot a few shots and vary focus for stacking in post, if needed.

Thank you.  Is one method better than another?  I guess I should have worded that differently.  I'm trying to get what the heck they were talking about.
