In humid conditions, how to avoid lens fog?

My wife and just returned from being in Hawaii for week and while I was out there on a number of occasions, my lenses kept fogging up something awful.  Is there a trick to preventing this?

Correct. Also op, were you taking the gear from an air conditioned environment to the outdoors? That would do it.

Why so serious?

To add a few more words:

Humidity isn't the problem, temperature variations are. Since there's a lot of A/C in Hawaii (or so I've been told) you'll need to let the camera acclimate when you change environments. This will, of course, be problematic when you're running around the island in your rental, hopping in and out to capture the scenery.

Just gotta slow down.
