Do you ever Spray and Pray?

Honestly I had a laugh at this question on a couple accounts.  First I had to verify with Google what this 100% meant.   Second, why would anyone actually use this method, it sounds so sloppy?

No, I don't...

It's not really a method or technique. I've done sports, and depending on the sport a photographer may shoot a sequence of rapid fps; that's a technique because it's done for a purpose in certain situations. Or it's used in birding where someone is following a fast moving bird.

Otherwise it seems to be ineffective to just keep firing off shots hoping something will turn out, and then have to go thru oodles of pictures to find anything good out of a bazillion. That's an exaggeration, but really, if someone is doing that they aren't taking time to frame shots well or really see what they're looking at. It seems to indicate a lack of skill and more need for learning and practicing to get good at using a camera.

Simple answer: NO.

I can't say I understand the rush to do so.

Lots of nevers here, I wonder how many want a decent fps in a camera though, and for what...portraits?
When trying to shoot fast moving subjects like dragonflies or hummingbirds, would you never use a burst mode?

Why so serious?

I very often shoot in CH with wildlife and though
I spray (now I know what it means), I don't pray,
I plan.

Light is free… capturing it is not!

Right, so if you burst ten shots, all are expected to be just right? The phrase is taken too literally....
