Using below your cameras native ISO?

If your camera has a native ISO range from 200-12,500 and extended that starts at let's say 100.  Smaller ISO number is best right?  So is there anything off by having your camera when ever in the  lower extended 100 ISO?

The native ISO provides the best image quality.  In order to meet exposure requirements, the lower ISO may be the best choice in some situations and the lower ISO will certainly provide excellent image quality.   But native ISO is best.

Generally using lower ISO than native will slightly reduce dynamic range. Key word is slightly. I use ISO 64 a lot in my camera and I like the images better. Is it my imagination? Maybe, but I still prefer my ISO 64 images.

I agree with the others, native is usually best. However, why not do a side by side test yourself, not all sensors and systems are the same.....

Why so serious?

Define "best"? Best at what?

Some will say that shooting lower than the native ISO buys you nothing. However, having been in situations where I want a larger aperture or longer exposure, I'll crank mine down to 64 or 50. I don't care, and any degradation is, IMNSHO, negligible.
