Film photographers, when did you add digital photography into your mix?

I ran into another photographer yesterday while out shooting and during our various discussions, he just shared he was getting used to digital.  Curious about this, I asked what he was talking about.  He thing went on to say he just moved from film to digital earlier this year!

Talk about a late start or stubborn to change start.

For those of you who converted from film to digital, when did you make the move?

Early 2000s, I had been out of photography for a few years when Nikon began producing cameras that could utilize my older glass. My oldest son was getting into the sport with my old filmers and went digital before me, he stirred my renewed interest.
The big difference was the processing......

Why so serious?

My first move was when the D3S hit the market. Then the
D3X was my second move shortly after. Within a 16 month
heavy workout, it was over with film… and there is not way
back at this point.

Light is free… capturing it is not!

My first digital camera was a Sony Mavica MVC-FD95, bought in July 2000. It recorded to floppy disks. At full resolution only 4 photos per 1.2 meg floppy. A whopping 3.2 mega pixels, if I remember correctly. I still have the Sony, and it still works. That's more than I can say for my Nikon and Fuji cameras that I've owned since then. They are long gone, but I still have the Sony. I had to buy an external USB floppy disk drive for it about 4 years ago, because none of my newer PCs had floppy disk drives.
