Will Canon & Nikon survive from Sony?

Last month or the month before I had read about Canon CEO talking grim about camera market.  I just watched a video from Tony Northrup painting a very dismal future for Nikon.

I don't want to start another one of 'those' topics.  So just approach this from a what needs to happen standpoint.  During that video from Northrup, he pointed out a number of steps that Nikon should do.

What's your take on all of this, are things really that bad for Canon and Nikon?

Rule Number 1. Don't pay attention to Tony Northrup.

Yup....
Rule Number two, refer to rule number one. Northrup has been predicting Nikon's demise for a long time, a canon fanboy and little else.

Why so serious?

Don't they have other things to do?

Light is free… capturing it is not!

What's rule number 3?

OK, point made.  Thank you for that dosage of reality!

I don't see anything happening to any of these brands.  Seriously, that would be one dark day to lose any of these.

Sony's sales are way down too. They've all made great gear that doesn't need replacing  often like ten to fifteen years ago during the megapixel rage.....They all have other product lines, not just DSLRs.

Why so serious?
