Are you using 2 card slots in your camera?

4 years 1 month ago #675735 by Jeff Scott
I was reading some older posts on another community about dual card slots.  Are you actually using both slots if you have dual slots in your camera? If you are using dual slots, is there more resources used up in the camera?

As time as not yet confirmed that cards got so safe that
only one can be used, I stick with ma reflex of using both.

You are using 2 cards all the time?  Sorry, I'm not 100% understanding you.

Yes, guilty as charged!

I use dual slots. The second records the exact same as the first. Yes, using two slots will increase time for the buffer to clear especially if the second slot is a slower slot than the first. Some cameras have UHS-II slot for first and UHS-I slot for the second.

I have dual slots in my main bodys, and use them both....always.

Why so serious?

I typically have mine set to move from slot 1 to slot 2 if the card fills. That way if I happen to fill a card, I wouldn't miss anything. If shooting anything critical, I would save the same to both cards. (I am not a professional, or I would probably always save to both)

When it's just me, 1 slot.  When it's for a client, 2 slots.

Another thought: I keep my cards in camera where its safer there than bouncing around in my photo pack....or falling out of a pocket never to be found.

I never had a 2-slot camera.
So using one slot all the time, never having problems,
I do not see the use for a second slot.
Fear?

Preparedness has been and is still confused with paranoia often.....

Same here, just don't have the need.  Perhaps one day, but now, one slot is fine for me.
