There is always one of "those" at each wedding gig

1 month 3 weeks ago #676335 by MYoung
The Uncle Bills and Aunt Judys who show up to the wedding with their point and shoot camera, or newly purchased DSLR from CostCo who stands next to the professional photographer or in our way.

Yesterday was the worst.  Usually most will get the hint with a slight remark.  However yesterdays wedding the grooms sisters husband  had a shiny new  Nikon D(something) around his neck, and he must have watched one to many videos on YouTube.  He was rolling and crawling  around taking shots of the wedding.  Just to be clear, most people get in my way from being in my frame.  This guy I almost stepped on a few times!  Technically I  almost tripped over him.

But he was a character to watch though!!!

I know a photographer who makes it clear in the contract that if guests get in his way or interfere with him doing his work (taking the professional photos he was hired to do) that he will stop and wait - and bill them for the extra time he spends waiting. He says that works.

Years ago in one of the last weddings I worked, there was a young woman that was "shooting" the wedding unofficially. I told the bride's mother who said, "so?" I told her no problem as long as she doesn't mind that girl being in every print I deliver.
It stopped pdq.
I don't miss working events.....

Why so serious?
