When to photograph at Disneyland when few people there?

4 years 1 month ago #676906 by Scott Klubeck
We have some family in town and yesterday we all went to Disneyland.  I thought it would be fun to get a photo of them in front of the castle.  However we must have waited a good hour, then even came back much later in the day and still it was so CROWDED.  When is the best time of the day to get a quick portrait in front of the castle with view people mucking up your shot?  Even though we are locals, we don't get out there too often, so I have no idea.

OMG, there is never a time when there isn't loads of people there.  It doesn't matter which day, and nearly every time.  Most likely your best bet will be first thing when they open, or just before they close.  Like you are on the verge of getting kicked out because most everyone else has left.

Early Morning, Off Season or Be granted a private tour while the tourist attraction is closed under repair/maintenance.

When Disney is closed is your only chance.

Why so serious?

You could try using a 10 stop ND filter if you can keep your friends still for the exposure.  Everyone else will be moving around and will disappear.

The ND filter is a good idea, but I believe you can't have a tripod in Disneyland.  I'm about 90% sure on that.

Use a table top tripod, or Gorilla Pod
