Corona Virus impact on camera industry?

4 years 1 month ago #677612 by Chester Foster
I just watched video from Tony Northrup talking about impact of this virus with camera industry.  So, unless I'm missing something, factories can re-open if they had the masks right?

That virus will disrupt everything shipped from Asia, and tony northrup has no more clue of  "impact" than the snooze media.....

Gear is still made by people and lots are staying on their
guards at home, so everything will slow down quite a bit.
As all is shipped around the world, traffic is down too.

So regarding items coming in from China, do we need to worry about those items?

Who knows at this point.  They say it's spread via respiratory, however there are those that claim we don't fully understand.

So possible, when you factor in how many parts come from China.  I wouldn't be surprised to see many 2020 products delayed till 2021.

I'm still on the fence if they will cancel the Olympics.

Well, we'll see what happens during the next few months!

It's hard to believe what we read as the media always blows things out into left field.

The Japanese won't cancel, they'll just ban China. The political illness will probably kill more than the disease anyway.

That would not be justifiable since it already spread out-
side China and things could get worse until the Summer.

I think Alvin's guess is better. Not to be forgotten at this
point is that there is yet NO sure cure for the advanced
cases and NO vaccine yet.

Maybe demand will slow down, but supply definitely will.

I'm sure we'll see delays from a lot more than just Canon.

This whole BS started with dirty Chinese people eating bats and live mice right?  That being the case, the Chinese government needs to pony up some funds to get this under control.

That fear again… :(

Had you both the necessary geopolitical input,
you would see and express things differently.
… and yes, this is a photography forum.

You need to develop a sense of humor, you certainly aren't a yank.
You seem to be getting a bit snobby.
