Sensor with/without anti Aliasing filter?

4 years 1 month ago #678975 by E Rodriguez
How has the need for having an anti Aliasing filter changed in recent years with sensor technology?  Does it matter if you have a sensor with or without anti aliasing filter?  Earlier this week I had watched a video that spoke about how it didn't matter, but didn't go into further discussion on why?

One of those thoughts in the back of my head I've been wondering about since.

What is your take on this?

AA filters introduce some soft focus to combat moire.  I believe one of the major reasons my Fuji system makes such crisp images is its lack of AA filters.  Moire can be mitigated to some extent in software.  That's my take.

Generally without.  My D4s has an AA filter and when I pixel peep it annoys me.

I have one of each and have NO issue getting sharp images from the one with the AA filter.

Why so serious?
