Will Covid be the trigger that kills major camera manufactures?

Last week I read a post that spoke about the financial troubles that companies like Pentax, Olympus and even Nikon could face right now considering that they weren't doing all that great prior to Covid.  Do you think we will see one of these companies buckle from Covid and close doors?

Canon 5d Mark II • Canon 24-105mm F/4.0 • Canon 135mm F/2.0 • Canon 50mm F/1.8 • Tamron 28-75mm F/2.8 • Canon 580ex ii

Olympus and Pentax yes, but I don't see Nikon going anywhere.  Definitely not Sony or Canon.  Those two have so much going on in other areas other than photography to keep $$ coming in.

Speaking of which, does Nikon have anything else they are doing outside from photography industry?  No right?

Industrial countries are taking steps to support in so many ways
their people, their jobs, and their business.

Sure, it is and will be disastrous economic figures for sometime
but it will not be 1929!

Light is free… capturing it is not!

I seem to recall, wasn't it the lack of technology that crushed things during the Great Depression?

Nikon is more than a camera company. They make optics, land surveying instruments and other things, as well a photographic equipment.

Well, we will find out.  I suspect these next 6-8 months will shack the industry and we'll see some interesting things happening here.  I hope all survive and adapt.

Things are far from over for the camera industry.  I don't even want to speculate, but I'm sure we will see more wripples before the year is done.
