$10000 worth of camera gear stolen, caught on video

Damn!  This old guy has some nerve!   https://globalnews.ca/video/7145593/up-to-10k-worth-of-camera-gear-stolen-at-anti-black-racism-protest-on-sunday

But seriously, why in the world would the photographer leave all that much gear left alone??

I'm looking at my gear even when it's 2 feet away from me!

Anyone else wondering how convenient it was this guy was recording?  I just don't trust squat these days.

Anyone who leaves that much gear sitting out unattended at an event like this should have their head checked out.  Then again, he seemed very casually unconcerned about the gear that was taken.  IF that gear was legitimately in there.

Funny, I was just thinking the same thing.

I don't think Global News is a legit media outlet, I've seen it before, they have names of people all with the same/similar generic job titles; there should be editors, photographers, writers, etc.

And the guy already had a black bag next to him and another smaller black object (camera? case?) when he was sitting there looking around. Then all of a sudden that's gone and he's reaching to take a bag (which looks suspiciously similar, what were the first bags/cameras and where'd they go???). Looks like they were moved down a row.

What photographer is that casual with his/her equipment?? That bag was sitting clear at the end of the row over by the aisle. I've done sports, I always kept things with me or put in a secure location (at Will Call, etc.).  And he doesn't care about the cost? didn't report it? ( 5, no wait, 10 thou! lol and he had lap tops in there??).

And, having looked again, it's not even the same guy, is it?? The one being interviewed later doesn't look like the guy with a camera who gets up while the bag walks away with the guy in the green shirt... or was the videographer standing there recording video??? why would he have left his bag up in the stands?? This makes no sense, looks like a stunt used to get attention on social media (no last name, but a website), or click bait.

Agree, something doesn't add up about this story.  Just seems kind of political towards this movement.  No photographer is going to leave their gear alone like this.

Canon EOS 5D Mark II, 17-40mmL, 24-105mmL, 100-400mmL, 300mm f/4L IS, Sigma 12-24mm, 430EX, Extension tubes

Huh?  Dude had it coming, leave your pricey gear alone, and someone is likely going to run off with it.  Which is why MOST wouldn't leave unattended.
