Canon EOS R5 Recall for overheating??

2 weeks 15 hours ago #692393 by Photo Junky
I received a notice earlier this week that the R5 that I ordered was on backorder.  Now I'm seeing some talk that Canon stopped the shipments because of the heating issue and that there are discussions from within Canon about a recall?

Well that was quick.  This would be my first Canon, not a good first camera buying experience if true.

I don't see why they would recall it, when they can just send out a firmware update.

Firmware won't fix a hardware issue. They may be able to tweak the firmware and help a little bit, but if the heat dissipation system isn't adequate, nothing will help. I have seen a company that makes a tiny fan that attaches to the body with the screen flipped out and that should help some. There is a reason Sony stuck with 12 megapixels with the new SIII.

Yes the case people, name starts with a T, but they have something that blows air at the back of the cameras LCD screen.
