Peak Design strap failure??

3 years 8 months ago #692401 by Vladimir
One of my quick releases broke today.  I caught my camera just in time.  Now I didn't buy this strap new, it was given to me.  So I can't complain.  I do however like the strap, with the exception of it breaking.

I'm thinking about if I want to buy a new one, but want to see if anyone else had issues with theirs?

You should complain. That's one of of their major selling points, and I'm willing to bet they would like to know about it. The question is how did the release break? I would expect the button part to break, which is why I would never buy one of them. But that's just me.

Contact them and complain. See what they say.

oh boy, please don't say that, i love my pd strap.  what broke on it?

on the newer buttons the cords are supposed to change color as they fray letting you know to replace the button & cord.  you should be able to use an older strap with the new cord/button.  i think they cost about $5 USD for a new set of buttons.

if it's an older pd strap they did have some issues with the cords.  the newer cords are thicker.

How old is the strap?  They had  a recall a couple years ago, where they sent out beefer quick releases to everyone.  Just saying, you might have had a old one.

Never had any issues with mine.  Sounds like you got old ones.

You got that used right?  So you don't know the history, it's a guessing game for them on how old it is.  I've been using larger strap for gezz, 2 years or so.  Not a single problem.

I'm with the most here, I have been using mine for 6 years or so.  Never had any issues either.  I wish they would offer their strap in red or orange, that's my only complaint is that they have limited colors.
