Have you made a photography e-book?

3 years 7 months ago #696410 by CaptNemo
I'm feeling I could be more productive with all this Covid stuff happening still.  I'm thinking about putting together a photography e-book.  Just wondering if things like this can be sold on Amazon or _______?

Just thinking of ways to stay busy and perhaps make a few bucks.

Thanks for any advice you may be able to offer.

All those I know (5) that tried, all failed.

Would you be interested to sell a 250 pages e-book for
say 12.99USD? That's the price today on the web market.

Say you put in 200 picts on 250 pages, that means you
will get (I dare not say earn!) 12,99 ÷ 200 = 0,6495 cents
per pict.

Anymore questions?

Agree, if you are doing this to make $$, not going to happen easily.  Far to difficult of a market.

Nikon D300 24-70mm f2.8
70-200mm f2.8
50mm f1.4 & 50mm f1.8
105mm f2.8
2 SB800

If you are doing for name recognition and the act of getting information out there, go for it.  However if you are trying to make a fortune.  That will likely not happen.

Nikon D700: 50mm, 14-24mm, 85mm, 105mm 70-200mm, 150-500mm (Sigma), SB-900

On the other hand, a hard copy is a whole different business.

I made and published a 328 p. book, hard cover, coffee table
size and quality. I needed a year to shoot, process, layout and
three more weeks for the printing and binding.

All together, a material investment over 33k € for 5000 copies
and my production time. Add to that all the publishing and sa-
les work and then you may hope for a very gratifying income.

Just remember that many publishers are out there on the mar-
kets place. Your book will have to be top quality at every level
and your selling arguments will be originality… theme and topic.
