Have you over tightened camera plate and stripped screw or camera?

My tripod plate is constantly getting loose on my camera.  Each time I'm twisting this down pretty tight.  Have you ever over tightened one of these and stripped the screw or the camera?

Then what?

No, never heard of it!

But what I learned is that if one expect different results
repeating the same thing, there is something done wrong.

The base plate is possibly slipping thus losing its tightness.
The solution is adding a layer of non slipping material bet-
ween the plate and the camera.

ADDENDUM

I use an L bracket on all my bodies which incorporates
a permanently mounted arca-swiss interface.

G'day Rocky

YES !!!!! I have seen a film-camera where the tripod thread in the base of the camera had been pulled out from the body .... camera became a piece of junk with light leaks

But - I also have the same problem today with a removable baseplate. As NS offers, there are solutions and which one is up to you

a) use some thin rubber from an old bicycle tube between the camera and the baseplate. It will do 2 things .... the rubber should grab the two metal pieces tighter and in the rare event that the tripod screw is a tiny bit long and bottoming in the camera base, the thickness of the rubber should allow it to tighten a bit better

b) if the base plate is attached to the camera base 'long term' and does not need to be removed to change batteries etc, you might consider some type of non-permanent glue ... just 2 drops on the surface will spread enough to grab the baseplate securely, but if you ever need to remove it, a razor blade will separate the two pieces easily.

Hope this helps

Hey thanks guys.  I'm wondering if it's the cheap plate I have.  I just ordered a new one from Amazon.  I have had a couple people now mention that the rubber gasket under the plate could be the problem.

We will see!

Thankfully, NO!   I have never had an issue with mine coming loose.

If you intend to leave the plate on the body, some small lengths
of double face scotch tape could solve the moving problem.
