42photo dot com

It was $1,999, but they also had a $5 off coupon as well.

I just checked and it was still available at that price. (Nov. 28, 2020 at 10:08 am)

I was afraid it was something like that. Let us know if it works out for you. $2798 is the legitimate going rate for a U.S. warrantied camera. Good luck.

You were right.  Something was wrong.  Thanks for the heads up.

When I called 42nd Street Photo to confirm the purchase, I was told that the A7R III body and the FE 200-600 lens were not the US versions with US warranties, even though it did not state that anywhere on their site.  They said that if it doesn't specifically state "US Version" on the web site, it is automatically the international version.  When I asked for the link to their US version, I was told that the US version is only available in their store.  After a few choice words I cancelled the order and went looking for another vendor.

I did find another great deal on Cyber Monday for US versions at Beach Camera in NJ, slightly more expensive than 42nd Street ($190 more), but still a great price:

Sony a7R III Alpha Mirrorless Digital Camera, Body Only, US version:  $2,149
Sony FE 200-600mm f/5.6-6.3 G OSS Lens, US version:  $1,779

In addition, the lens was part of a bundle which included the lens hood, lens cap, cleaning kit, storage pouch, and some software, so if you take the bundle into account, I'm almost back to the 42nd Street price.

I think that in the long run, I made out better with Beach Camera.

Thanks again for all the help.

I received all of the items in perfect condition and with US warranties, as promised, and at the prices I listed in one of my previous posts..

I can also say that the people I dealt with at Beach Camera were great and they went above and beyond to find promotions and discounts that were not listed on their web site.

All in all, it was a great experience.

Now the fun begins.
