Sensor damage from overheating?

Would you happen to know when a camera overheats, is there damage done to the sensor?  We plan on heading to Death Valley this summer and I know the temps get very hot there.  Just trying to plan for this trip.

The camera should shut down long before any sensor damage would take place.

That's why it shuts off, to prevent damage to sensor.  Didn't Canon get in deep doo doo from setting this timer prematurely?

G'day Chester

Don't worry yourself mate ..... if you are alive & well then so will be the camera

Last summer in Downunder-land we had / and I was walking around in / temperatures of 48 degrees C ... or 118 deg F
Yes- it was stinking hot and yes it was unpleasant and yes I got out of the sun as soon as I could .... and my Panny superzoom performed perfectly ~ and so should any half-decent dSLR

Mind you - if you are silly enough to leave the camera out in the sun for an hour or more, then it will be as sunburned as you would be doing the same thing

Hope this helps
