How to transfer photos directly from camera to external hard drive?

Can this be done?  Like when you are on job location or in the field and you fill your card, or just want to back them up.  Can you dump this directly on external hard drive?

Data transfer implies a software that will know what to do with it and tell
a CPU how to do it. What ever the device, the two are unavoidable.

Search on Amazon, there are tools. but they are really expensive these harddrives. Why not wait till your home, or bring a laptop?

:agree:  I going to post the same thing.  My friend has had one of these for years, starting off with the original. She loves it.

Any of you actually have one of these things?  My only beef with Gnarbox is that there is no screen on it.  Now there is an an app that you use in conjunction, right?  How does that work?

Dang those Gnarbox things are expensive.  What makes them so special?

For when in the wild, one needs a simple to use solution, a fast tool,
an intuitive approach and safe operations.

This is a dedicated computer with large SSD memory-bank and optional
Thunderbolt 3 multi-card readers (sold out!)… awesome solution IYAM.

A buddy of mine had their original Gnarbox, and it apparently had a number of issues.  Their new one is pretty solid unit as I understand from him.
