Any trick to keeping your tripod plate stationary on your camera?

My plate always moves.  You can tighten it, but sooner or later, it will spin.  There is rubber between the plate and camera and I have the screw tight.  Not sure what to do here.  Hot glue?

Just a line of double faced scotch tape will do the trick! :P

I use these rubber washers. They are large enough to hold quite well.

+1 as well

-but if this does not do the trick, you could also consider that 2-part epoxy glue they sell for repairing battle tanks and is guaranteed 'never to be undone'

Military grade epoxy would be the nec plus ultra and a no way back solution.
An other worthy solution could be a tiny drop — at each end of the plate of —
blue Loctite that is meant to increase movement resistance.

I've even used a cut out from an old bicycle tire when I was in a pinch.  It lasted till I bought a new plate.
