My Godox flash won't fire off-camera. Need advice on troubleshooting.

Morning.

I just picked up a used Godox TT600 flash that is supposed to have a built-in radio trigger.  At this point I'm having a tough time trouble shooting and can't figure this darn thing out.  I've added new batteries (twice) and I 100% know these batteries are full power.

It's sitting on the camera hotshot and all the pins as far as I can see are connecting with the cameras hot shoe as they should. The flash is in slave mode and I have checked a number of times to verify transmitter and flash are on the same channel (they are).

I can't think of anything else, the flash simply won't fire when the shutter is clicked on the camera.

I'm out of ideas, would you happen to have any suggestions for me?  thank you!!

Get a flash extension cable.  They aren't expensive.

I have 5 of the TT600's and have had my bouts with them. There are three modes, as a transmitter, a receiver, and as a slave. Have you tried getting it to flash with an IR signal using another flash like the built-in flash on your camera? That would at least check to see if it will work at all. There is an "Off" setting in it as well, where it is powered, but in standby. I usually leave mine all set up the way that I like to use them, but sometimes have a little trouble getting them working if something gets changed accidentally.

Are you trying to use this with an X Pro or X2T transmitter? If so, you will have several other settings to contend with, like the channel setting, group, and ID.

If Otto's suggestion doesn't help, maybe we can work it out together.

Charley

How is the customer service for Godox, are you able to get phone support?  Drives me up the road with some companies who don't offer phone support.

+1 on the cable that will do the trick.  I'm not familiar with the reliability of these transmitters.
