Discrepancy between D800 and D800E?

Hi everyone. I'll just jump into it.
I got into photography before I was even a teen. Shot, studied, worked in and out of photography for over a decade and more recently turned into a full time business providing my income. I've been shooting with a D800 for a bit now and recently decided to get a second body for weddings, and after considering budget, my loyalty to Nikon (lol) and a lot of research, I ended up getting the D800E. With all the research I did, I knew it was essentially the same camera minus the anti-aliasing filter. But upon having it, i'm noticing a lot of differences which I wanted to ask you guys about.

File size. The average Raw file size I get is about 45mbs, hardly various more than 3mbs either way. When I initially got the D800E, I set both cameras up to have 100% identical settings, same AF points, same FX settings, same aspect ratio, WB, ISO, F stop, shutter, time of day etc. I mean every tiny detail appears to be set 100% identical. Same lens, same focal length. I took the exact same photo twice, once with each camera. Same SD cards too.

The D800E produced a 65mb raw file. The D800 still a 45mb raw file. I'm so confused? The images in the 800E are brighter and sharper without a doubt, I can justify that to the lack of optics/filter in front of the sensor, but is that also the cause the the much larger file sizes?

So that's my question, why are the 800E pics larger than the 800. I'm not complaining, the bigger the better in my opinion, but now I wish my 800 produced larger files. Thanks :)

You may want to have a look at bit depth and compression of files.

Have a good time! :P
