Why modern mirrorless cameras not have GPS?

With all the tech being natively found in new cameras, why not GPS?  Seems like this would be something most would enjoy having.

Just my 3 cents.

Personally, that GPS feature I can do without anyway but
I would welcome others that maybe you don't need! :P

Eh, not something I would care about paying for.  Sorry.

Here's 3 more cents.... I love having the GPS, especially when you visit someplace unfamiliar.  I use it a lot, after I have returned from where ever I've been.  It can't be too costly, I've had cheap point-and-shoots with that option.

More modern cameras are designed to be paired with smartphones, which is where they can get Geo-location, if you let it.

Manufacturers need to build WiFi into cameras anyway, so why waste money, not to mention valuable menu space, on built-in GPS.

Personally, I'll pass.

:agree:  agree, bluetooth that to your phone and leave it at that.  GPS would likely carry a subscription cost as well.

GPS is free.

But beyond that, geolocation is more accurate with cellphones than with GPS alone.

You talking about the hardware in the camera?

Why?

As you can see, everything that is possible is not necessarily
needed, wanted… Sounds more like the kind of features ma-
kers will use to add to their selling arguments.
