Birds chirping recording

2 years 11 months ago #716792 by Inez Villarin
Those of you that dabble in video, when you want to capture video of something like a bird, wood pecker for example, and nothing else.  And when you have distracting ambient sounds, how are you cutting these sounds out?  High or low pass filter won't work, are you doing this in post?

Please help.  Thank you!

I don't do videos but sound recordings and I got myself a
parabolic receptor for long distance subject.

Light is free… capturing it is not!

Try using a shotgun mic pointed at the birds, but you'll need to get close or the sound will sound tanging.

Good mic is what you need, don't go cheap.

The advantage of the parabolic is that it focus the target better
cutting out the other ambient sounds.
