Yes, you can turn it off but I find it valuable.

I'll likely leave that feature on as well. That said, it depends on when I receive the lens. I bought it on the 10th. Originally I was to get it on the 12th ( tracking said it was "out for delivery" that day). Then it didn't come and FedEx is now saying scheduled delivery is on the 15th...They picked it up on the 10th. If KEH still had pickup at their location, I would have done so since they are only about 25 miles away from me...

I have bought from Amazon, B&H, and tristatecamera. I especially like the reviews on Amazon and B&H.

Amazon is fine, but several vendors sell through Amazon, and some of them are not as reliable or trustworthy.

If you use Amazon, make sure you're buying FROM Amazon, not just THROUGH Amazon.

It used to be directly with B&H, now I shop on Amazon because most are on there and most of the time there is best pricing there. But I always jump into Google for all major purchases to make sure I'm getting best pricing.

Anyone who stated shopping for the best price, and buying there wins my vote.  As long as it's not like places like 'Beach Camera' or whatever that place is called.
