Hasselblad vs Leica as best premium camera manufacture in 2021?

2 years 7 months ago #724592 by Ian Stone
This is a completely silly question. I have (had) a couple friends over tonight who happen to be Leica and Hasselblad camera owners.  Personally I wouldn't own either of these, just not cup of tea for my shooting needs.  Anyway, both seem to believe their brand is the the best of the best.  This lead to a interesting and long winded discussion.

Which would you say is the best of the best between the two?

Apples and Oranges.

Hasselblad's forte is medium format, while Leica's is 'Full Frame'.

Within they're respective realms, they are both the cream of the crop, but between the two, there's little overlap.

:agree:  Both great in their respective approach but, IMB, the best is not there!

Some thought (article that was posted on Peta pixel I think) Hasselblad cheapened their brand by putting cameras in drones a few years ago.

"cheapened their brand", perhaps, along with some other of their past ventures like re branding Sony's E-Mount cameras.

But their "Medium Format" cameras are still unbeatable.
