Bride that hired me, now requiring that I'm vaccinated??

2 years 5 months ago #725962 by CharleyL
Another way to look at this is that it has become a job requirement. There are many things that we accept in order to do the work that we do in order to get paid. This has unfortunately become one of them. Do you want the work and want to get paid? If you refuse this job because of this requirement, how many other jobs in the future will this cost you? Word of mouth can make you a star. It can also put you out of business very quickly.

Can you afford NOT to get this shot?

With all respect, yes it is.  I get what you are saying, don't get me wrong... but it is YOUR body.  There are constitutional rights that didn't account for something like this that give you certain freedoms.

WRONG! Jacobson v. Massachusetts! Look it up!

And, FYI, vaccinations predate the US Constitution.

Well regardless, I believe in choice.  Just like it was my choice and I got the vaccination.

Constitution is 10 years older than the oldest known vaccination.

Just a reminder to keep it civil everyone.

Not the same thing, but we're splitting hairs.

We got ours 2 months ago, but know people who refuse to get the shot.

I've gotten both my shots and a booster but if the stipulation isn't in the contract, they cannot enforce it. That said, just because you got the shot doesn't mean you will get COVID. Conversely, If one has already had Covid, they have a built-up immunity, and then, do they really need the shot?

If you've had COVID, you aren't necessarily immune to the variants.

Having had COVID only provides about 30% immunity. Having had a vaccine provides provides 70% to 90% immunity.

This whole thing would go away if everybody just got the shots. It's gone on as long as it has because we're not there yet. It's not likely to go away until we do.

It may not be in the contract between the bride and the photographer, but it may be in the contract between the bride and the venue. The bride just might be informing the photographer that if she's not vaccinated, she can't come in, in which case, she'll be a no-show and won't get paid.

Unlike other vaccinations, it doesn't provide immunity but is supposed to lessen the symptoms and possibly death. That said, Colin Powell had both shots and still got sick and died. As for your percentage claims, where did you get those?
