Using GoPro on good with suction cup

1 year 11 months ago #736778 by Brody Kross
I just bought one of these GoPro suction cups to mount my GoPro on my cars hood.  Do I need to use a leash of some sort with this or do people just leave it as is?

A leash is a wise decision. Magnets and suction cups are quite unreliable.

I have one of those GoPro suction cups, you can lock it at the base and that will keep that on there good.  You should only use on clean flat surface for a good grip.

Those GoPro's suction cups are pretty strong, you should be fine.  I want to say it's rated till 140mph or something like that.

I've been using one of GoPro suction cups for 3 or might even be 4 years.  If the surface you are sticking it too is clean, it won't break free.  Just saying.

I have a couple of these and use these very often in my offroad adventures.  I've only had one fall off once, and that was because I didn't clean the side of my dirty truck when I mounted.  This was Alabama Hills 2021 and it was side mounted GoPro pointed back at my trailer.  Lucky a friend saw it fall and picked it up for me.  Other than that, I've never had any problems with these.
