Photographers asking for tips?

OK, let me start by saying I've not done this, however meet someone who is apparently making a decent amount from tips and recommended I start this.   So, this photographer I met this weekend, has a seperate business card they hand out after a job is done.  One side has simply says "Thank you!" and the other side said "I appreciate your tip" with a Zelle phone number and PayPal account listed.

Have any of you done this?  I'm honestly on the fence about asking in this manor.  But I've always been shy about these sort of things anyway.  Are others doing?

No way would I accept a tip and payment too!

There are plenty of service providers that have a set fee, but receive tips.  So why not?

The idea of it leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Same. The price is the price. Tips just cheapen the service, seems unprofessional.

Thank you both.  Can't judge a girl for trying to make an extra buck.   Back to the drawing board.  Hopefully 2023 will generate more business!

Nope, the only thing I ask for is to leave a review on social

I'll ask for them to leave a comment on my FB or Yelp, but never a tip

Only thing I will ask for is referrals.

No on-the-tip idea.... Just work it into the negotiated rate...

Just skip the tip talk and go with referrals.

Absolutely not.  I even struggle with asking for referrals.
