Oh my lord, just too funny!  As many of you know, I have throttled down my wedding business to simple just referral only business and focus a bit on long standing clients.  Perks of semi retired living!  Anyway, one of my clients today who has ordered off the top of my head I would guess 7 prints from me during the last 3 years.  He just called me up and asked for me to print off another one of their family portraits from last years reunion and drop it off tomorrow.  I can't do that I responded, he asked why and I shared I needed to send the print request over to the printers we use and I'll get that over ASAP.  "Oh I thought you had been print all this in your garage".    Oh man, that is just too funny.  We both had a good laugh.

Some photographers do their own printing - no law against it.

I'm pretty sure he didn't say there was a law.

Actually I know someone who does print for his small set of exclusive clients.  What this guy does is nothing short of amazing work.  But he his extremely low volume and extremely high quality.  He was telling me just before the holidays last year, when clients place order with him, he will often give them a timeline of upwards 60 or 70 days!

But his clients gladly slip into line for this guys prints.
