Been planning this trip for weeks and rained all day today!  No photography for me.  Bummed.

Looking for rain coat as we speak.

Welcome to my world.  Well at least last weekend.  I feel for you, more reasons to get friendly at the bar.  :beerbang:

That's what happened to our photo walk from 2 weeks ago.  Everyone ended up going to a Starbucks to hang out, with a few heading outdoors every so often to snap off a few shots before getting soaked.

Has happened to me on more occasions than I care to think about .
But you learn to live with it .  Occupational "hazard" for want of a better word .

It's that time of the year. But some of my favorite shots are taken when it's raining.

Get a raincoat for yourself, and one for your camera. They make clips for attaching umbrella handles to tripods too, but use a large diameter umbrella.

I have one of these in each camera bag. Very roomy for just about any DSLR or Mirrorless camera and telephoto lens. The lens part of the hood has a silicon rubber band and a Velcro strap to hold it tightly around the end of the lens to keep it reasonably water proof. The bottom is double zippered so you can put the hood over the camera without removing it from the tripod, and then zipper toward the center to close the opening around the tripod. The top and back are clear, so you can see the camera well to operate it, and the hand sleeves have draw string closures, but also droop down to keep the rain out. I have never bothered to tighten this around my wrists and no water has found it's way in through the hand holes. At about $10 it's cheap insurance, and one is always in each camera bag. I haven't yet resorted to umbrellas, but starting to think about getting a large one and a tripod clip.

As annoying as they are to use, that is why I carry around plastic bags for my gear and rain coat.
