Will one of those Gorilla tripod things hold a DSLR camera with a let's say 85mm lens safely?

I've got one of the larger models, and it has no problems holding a DSLR and most of my lenses. The only ones I'd worry about are the really big zooms (like a 70-200 f/2.8 ). They give weight estimates for the various models on the Joby website.

I have the Gorilla Pod SLR-Zoom and have used it for a couple of years. It comes in handy. You have to be very cautious because over time the little joints tend to loosen/wear. When I bought this model they did not make the metal version. Just be careful!

This thread has photos of it. One is flat on the table, the other is "wrapped" on the top of an antique tilt-top table.

Gorilla tripod sounds like it would have no problem holding a DSLR, as it sounds big and strong.

I have one and it will works great, as long as you don't have a ton of weight on it.
