Using a flash while UV filter on camera?

12 years 7 months ago #5504 by Augustin
I read on someones blog today that when using a flash you can't use a UV filter?? They were saying something about the filter has multi coating and it interferes with the transfer of light? LOL it was out there! But it was worthy enough to post here, heck you never know.

Have you heard anything like this?

This is first hearing this for me. I'm going to bump this one in hope of more feed back on this question. I'm leaning towards, what difference would it make.

Sounds bogus to me. I don't use UV filters, but it wouldn't be a problem if you did use it with a flash. Now if you use filters & there is a light source in or near the frame, you will get more ghosting & reflections by using a filter due to the additional glass surfaces.
